Join the Wayne State University Farmers Market every Wednesday from 11-4 for lots of lunch options, fresh produce, and community events like cooking demos and free yoga. D-Town Farm is a vendor at the WSU market selling produce grown locally in the city. The Wayne State University football team’s home-opener is Saturday, September 12th at noon against Truman State. Support the Warriors at Tom Adams Field as they seek to build momentum on their impressive play from the 2014 season. The team takes the field again on Saturday, September 29th at 6 PM in a match-up against Malone University.
Looking to explore the arts? Wayne State’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts has events planned to make this September a creative one. Join the Wayne Alumni Band, Wayne State Jazz Big Band, and the All-Star Big Band for performances on Sunday, September 6th and Monday September 7th at the 36th annual Detroit Jazz Festival.
The CFPCA will also be continuing its discussion series “The Business of Art” at the Ponyride artist collective in Corktown on Monday, September 21st. Also this month, Wayne State University will be hosting a research symposium on Social Institutions and Sustainability. The event will be held at Manoogian Hall on Friday, September 11th from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
