As the leaves turn and the crisp air of autumn sets in, there’s something special about a spring escape with warm sun and clear water—especially when that getaway is the Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa. While the resort closes its doors for the winter season, it’s never too early to start dreaming about the perfect spot to reunite with loved ones when it welcomes guests back next spring.

Located in the idyllic town of Gouvia on the island of Corfu, the resort offers a seasonal retreat that truly shines as the ultimate destination. After months of cold, gloomy weather, the Mediterranean sun greets you with a warm embrace as you arrive on the island. Corfu is waking up from its winter slumber, flowers bloom, the sea sparkles and there’s an undeniable freshness in the air. The first Dreams Resort in Greece begins hosting visitors in April, which is perfectly timed for the spring travel season. That makes it an ideal spot for a rejuvenating getaway, as the island comes alive.

One of the most enticing things about visiting Corfu is how peaceful and beautiful the island is before the height of the tourist season. It’s also the perfect time to explore Corfu without the summer crowds, with the luxury of exploring the island’s natural beauty and cultural landmarks at your own pace. Visit a local olive oil factory to see how this famous Corfiot product is made or simply take in the views of Gouvia Bay from the resort’s stunning vantage point.

What’s particularly exciting about this resort is its all-inclusive luxury. Every detail is taken care of, from gourmet dining to craft cocktails by the pool. You won’t have to think twice about anything—just relax and enjoy the experience. With several à la carte restaurants offering everything from Greek specialties to fresh seafood and Italian cuisine, the culinary options are endless. Sip cocktails from one of the five resort bars or take in the sunset over the sea while lounging in the adults-only pool.

The layout of the family-friendly resort itself is designed for the ultimate chill and it looks like its own little Greek town. Spacious rooms and suites offer views of the sea or the hills of Corfu, creating a serene backdrop for your stay. And, the resort’s Preferred Club provides an elevated experience with added perks like a private pool, personalized concierge services, and access to an exclusive lounge.

Corfu in spring is nothing short of magical. This is the time of year when the island bursts into color—wildflowers bloom, the olive trees sway in the gentle breeze, and the hills are covered in lush greenery. Just a 10-minute drive from the resort is Corfu Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its mix of Venetian, French, and British influences. You can wander through its cobbled streets, visit historic landmarks, or simply sit at a café and enjoy the relaxed Mediterranean pace of life. For a more intimate experience, stroll through the nearby village of Gouvia, which has a charming marina and local tavernas that offer fresh seafood and wine.

Back at the resort, you and your travel companions can enjoy the crystal clear waters of Corfu Bay, lounging by the adults-only pool with a cocktail in hand, indulging in a spa day, or joining one of the many entertainment and fitness activities. Choose from relaxing yoga sessions overlooking the sea, or if you’re feeling adventurous, dive into one of the many water sports available, like paddleboarding or snorkeling. Fitness enthusiasts can head to the gym for a workout or join one of the fitness classes to get energized for the day. If you’re more inclined to relax, the resort’s private cabanas are perfect for soaking up the Mediterranean sun. By afternoon, take a cooking class to learn how to make traditional Greek dishes or a guided hike through the island’s stunning olive groves.

Dining at Oceana felt like stepping into a serene, coastal dream. From the moment I arrived, the stunning view of the Ionian Sea set the stage for what would become one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had. The gentle breeze, the soft glow of the sunset, and the sound of waves lapping at the shore created a tranquil and enchanting atmosphere.

I started the evening with a glass of Assyrtiko, a crisp Greek wine that perfectly complemented the briny sweetness of the oysters I ordered as an appetizer. As I savored each bite, I couldn’t help but marvel at how fresh everything tasted—the sea’s essence on my plate. The seafood platter, that followed, was equally spectacular. Each piece of seafood whether it was the lobster, prawns, or seabass—was grilled to perfection. The simplicity of the preparation allowed the natural flavors to shine through, with just a hint of olive oil and fresh herbs to enhance the dish.

The highlight for me, however, wasn’t just the food—it was the live music. A talented Greek singer filled the air with traditional melodies, her voice blending seamlessly with the ambiance. It added an authentic, soulful touch to the evening, making the experience feel truly immersive. For those seeking a more intimate experience, there are relaxed acoustic sets and quieter performances in the lounges, where you can sip wine and chat while the music plays in the background. If you’re up for more excitement, the resort’s main stage hosts larger events with singing, dancing, and dazzling fire shows that never fail to impress.

With Dreams Corfu set to pause for the winter in November, now is the perfect time to start planning your spring escape. As we look ahead to the new year, there’s no better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with a trip to Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge, and make memories that will last a lifetime. So mark your calendars—April will be here before we know it, and Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa is ready to welcome you to paradise.
