Building on a strong bond with its neighbors across the Detroit River, the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix announced a renewed partnership with the City of Windsor, Ontario in Canada. The 2015 partnership marks the sixth year that the Grand Prix will work with the City of Windsor and it will once again provide effective access for Canadian fans to cross over into Detroit and experience this world-class racing event.

“Fans will witness thrilling action on and off the track at the Grand Prix, May 29-31 at Belle Isle Park, and get a chance to sit together in a special Canadian section at the race.”

Fans from Canada will have the opportunity to purchase transportation with their Grand Prix tickets through the City of Windsor.
Reserved in the Canadian section of Grandstand 1, the special ticket package for Canadian fans offers a view of the front stretch and the start/finish line on the Raceway at Belle Isle Park road course, while overlooking all of the action on pit lane.

“We are proud to continue this long-term partnership with the City of Windsor and provide a great way for Canadian fans to enjoy the Grand Prix,” said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. “We truly have an international event here on Belle Isle, perfectly positioned on two beautiful waterfronts in Detroit and Windsor and we are excited to celebrate the start of summer at the Grand Prix again this year with our Canadian fans.”

Fans can visit www.citywindsor.ca for more information on the Grand Prix tickets and travel packages. To order tickets, fans in Windsor can call 3-1-1 and provide credit card information by phone or submit a request online at www.311online.ca.

“The City of Windsor is proud to support the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix again this year,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens. “By calling 3-1-1 Canadian race fans are able purchase tickets at a significant savings, and then thanks to our friends at Transit Windsor, enjoy reliable transportation to world-class auto racing this May 30th and 31st.”

The City of Windsor will also return as the sponsor for the official event media center on Belle Isle Park.  Over 700 media members from across the world were credentialed for the Grand Prix last year and that number is expected to grow in 2015.  The historic Belle Isle Casino will provide a working home for many members of the press covering the event at the City of Windsor International Media Center. The working journalists at the media center will have access to facilities and services that will be jointly staffed by members from Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as those from Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, showcasing the unique “two-nation destination” of the Detroit/Windsor area.
