On Saturday May 7th 2022 at Detroit’s Senate Theater, the 7th annual Detroit International Festival of Animation (DIFA) will celebrate and showcase a wild diversity of animations from 24 animators and filmmakers local and international. DIFA will feature 97 minutes of animated shorts ranging from experimental to quirky as well as more sophisticated mini features. |
NEW FOR 2022 – DIFA is now hosted at the historic Senate Theater in Detroit! This revitalized 1920’s Art Deco theater is home to the world’s 8th largest Wurlitzer pipe organ and features 784 seats, a classic concession stand, comfy lounge areas and secure parking. |
SUPPORTING UKRAINE – To help with relief to children during the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, DIFA and the Senate Theater are donating 25% of all admission sales to the Voices of Children Foundation. Created in 2015, VOC has been providing psychological support to children affected by war in Ukraine through art therapy, video storytelling, mobile psychologists and more. Now, the organization is working to support children across the country with emergency psychological assistance and assisting in the evacuation process.
