The Historic Scarab Club Hosts a Memorial Exhibition for late painter, Tom Parish Curated by New Gallery Director, Dalia Reyes.

The Scarab Club is pleased to present the upcoming solo memorial exhibition for painter and educator, Tom Parish. Untouched By Time is a collection of epically poetic paintings of Venice, Italy. Venice energized Tom continuously for years and this exhibition shows his rich dedication. Each painting is a reverie and visual diary of Tom’s time in Venice. Oil paintings of true spaces and also made up scenes of gorgeous wet pavement streets, calm waters and romantic views of architecture. We love seeing Venice through Tom’s eyes and we know you will enjoy it too. A Special thanks to Shirley Parish for working with us on this exhibition.

Tom Parish, (American, 1933-2018). Born in Hibbing, Minnesota in 1933, he was an American Painter who worked from Venice as his primary resource and inspiration since 1986. His home studio was in Detroit, Michigan. This is the place he worked diligently and on a daily basis For 35 years he was a professor of painting in the School of Art at Wayne State University in Detroit. He became a Professor Emeritus and is warmly remembered for inspiring generations of painting students at Wayne State University.
